Matt Schlapp: ‘There’ll Be Hell to Pay’ if Republicans Don’t Pass a Health Care Bill (Mediaite)

In the wake of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell delaying the vote on Senate Republicans’ health care bill when it became apparent he didn’t have enough support from his own caucus, one prominent conservative voice said that GOP lawmakers are going to have to come together and vote on something. Otherwise, there will be repercussions.

“Republicans ran for office in four elections saying Obamacare should be repealed,” American Conservative Union Chairman Matt Schlappstated on CNN’s New Day this morning. “They eventually amended that to be repeal and replace.”

Schlapp added that conservatives are going to “feel awfully hoodwinked” if Republicans that ran against Obamacare for years don’t deliver once they have complete control in Washington. He specifically singled out Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), who has criticized the Senate bill as being too harsh.
