Elliot Williams: Judge Is ‘Creating a Record,’ Getting the DoJ ‘Locked in with Their Statements’ About Deported Gang Member
EXCERPT:
WILLIAMS: "So, a couple of things. She‘s creating a record and trying to get the Justice Department locked in with their statements as to when they got him out, what they did and what the decisions were, so that, number one, if it goes to a higher court, there‘s an evidentiary record. Number two, if she‘s going to actually slap contempt charges or, you know, contempt citations on people, she can get them, you know, contradicting themselves. The whole point of the attorney that got fired is that he had to make those statements in court because he could have lost his law license if he was making a representation on the court that he knew to not be true. I think the judge is trying to lock the attorneys into a situation like that, or not. At least get them to be honest on the record."
