Hardball host Chris Matthews has been a longtime force in cable news and is a daily staple for MSNBC. I like Matthews, and I find myself respecting his appreciation for our Founding Fathers and our history of democracy. I even met the man once, briefly, when he did his College Tour of Hardball in 2008 and brought Senator John McCain to Villanova’s campus.
