Oscar-Winning Actress Emma Thompson: Weinstein Just the Tip of a ‘Very Particular Iceberg’ (Mediaite)

Over the past few days, with more and more sordid details coming out about Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein’s lengthy history of sexual harassment and abuse, a number of actresses have come out to either detail their own awful experiences with Weinstein or to condemn him.

In an interview that will air on BBC Newsnight, Academy Award-winning actress and screenwriter Emma Thompson tore into the mega-producer, labeling him a “predator.” But she didn’t just point the finger at Weinstein and his despicable behavior. She also noted that Weinstein is just one of many taking liberties with women in Hollywood.

Explaining that she wasn’t surprised “at all” that others had come forward with their tales of abuse at the hands of Weinstein, Thompson added that what she finds “sort of extraordinary is that this man is at the top of a very particular iceberg.”
