Jim Justice: If We Lose Coal Production in the East that Is a ‘Risk Beyond Belief’ for Homeland Security

‘We can’t afford today to do without coal in the east’

EXCERPT:

JUSTICE: "Think about if you awaken to the fact the eastern coal fields are gone and there is a disruption. There is a bomb put at a gas junction or at a bridge or two that is bringing western coal. What are we going to do? Are you willing to take that level of exposure? I truly believe — I’m not for a hand-out. I truly believe there will be a point in time to where we can truly maybe do without eastern coal. But today, if you can take that risk, if we were to lose our power — first of all, if we had the mines still running in the east and we had a disruption we could put it in the truck and haul it to the power plants in the east, whether it be Florida Power & Light, Duke Energy or whatever. But if the coal production is obsolete in the east, you are running a risk beyond belief as far as homeland security."
