Varney Mocks Forecaster: You Have the Only Job in the World Where You Can Be Consistently Wrong and Still Keep the Job

‘Producer told me to say that’

EXCERPT:

VARNEY: "The forecasters, the feds, they've been wrong before, haven't they?”
DEAN: “Listen, this is just a 'forecast', right? Anything can happen. We could have 9 hurricanes in the Atlantic basin but none of them come close to home, right? All we -- I would rather people be prepared, Stuart --"
VARNEY: "Yes."
DEAN: "-- and expect a very busy hurricane season, make your preparations now, know what to do, have your escape route in your head. You know, if we don't get hit that's awesome. At least people are prepared.”
VARNEY: “OK. You have the only job in the world where you can be consistently wrong and still keep your job." (Laughter) But -- that was really nasty of me, but the producer told me to say that."
