Scott Pruitt: Trump Put America First When He Pulled out of Paris Agreement

‘He made a very informed, and deliberate, and thoughtful decision’

EXCERPT:

PRUITT: “Every decision the President makes is a big decision. I think what the President did in this process is really solicit input from a cross-section of the cabinet. He made a very informed and deliberate and thoughtful decision. What is really important about his decision, in my view, is that he put America first. He actually said that when it comes to environmental agreements, international agreements, that we will put the interests of this country first and recognize what we have already achieved. We are a pre-1994 levels right now with our CO2 footprint. From 2000-2014, we reduced our CO2 footprint by over 18 percent. And yet, the previous administration went to Paris and was apologetic and the President said, ‘No longer. We’re going to make sure we put America first.’”
