Schumer: The Way to Get China To Do Something on N. Korea Is to ‘Hit Them Hard on Trade’

SCHUMER: "The key to winning in North Korea is China. China controls them economically. If China were to squeeze them, they’d have no choice but to back off. The way to get China to do something is not to be nice to them but is to hit them hard on trade. I think China has gotten away with everything on trade, and the Chinese have a pattern. They don’t help us, whether it’s economic or geopolitical, unless they’re forced to. If we were tough on trade and then we asked them to help North Korea, they’d do a lot more than they’re doing now. That’s a contrarian view."
